While in many regions it's referred to as Continuing Professional Development (CPD), in countries like the USA and those aligned with its standards, various alternative terms are used. These include Continuing Education Units (CEUs), indicating successful completion of non-regulated programs and courses. Moreover, there are industry-specific sub-categories such as Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Legal Education (CLE). As long as the CPD acquired is pertinent to the individual's professional advancement, it can be documented and accepted interchangeably as CME, CLE, etc., and vice versa.
